(Virtual) Between the Bars: May

Between the Bars: May

Guest Speaker: Tien-Hsin Cindy Wu
Sponsor: Kenny Li

We are extremely excited to invite back our associate director and amazing violinist Tien-Hsin Cindy Wu to talk about her most recent project “Sound it Out” for our next Virtual Between the Bars workshop on Saturday, May 23 at 7:30pm! Special thanks to our sponsor Kenny Li for making this event possible.

Since March, Cindy started a fun video project called "Sound it Out" on her YouTube Channel. It is a creative experiment where she looks at a piece of visual art and describe it with a tune spontaneously with her violin. So far, she has sounded out a great variety of visual arts including paintings, photographs, sculptures and popular images and reached over 2000 views on her channel. Recently, she was reached out and invited by the Shoreline Arts Alliance to collaborate and sound out 5 of the winning photographers’ works at their Photography Award IMAGES 2020 reception and panel discussion! Join us and Cindy on Saturday, May 23 at 7:30pm via Zoom for a fun behind the scene exploration how Cindy makes performing arts meet visual arts!

In case you are new to this:
New Asia Chamber Music Society’s Between the Bars is a monthly intimate workshop where we gather in unique venues, like our supporter’s living rooms, building lounges and more! It’s casual, it’s fun and a great opportunity to learn more about music. Each month we will feature a different theme and different artists who will bring music, stories, and ideas to the conversations. All workshops are specially curated for people from all backgrounds to learn, share, and connect.

Now more than ever, our incredible artists rely on your continued commitment as concerts around the globe are cancelled. Please consider to donate and support our musicians during this extremely difficult time. We are very grateful for your ongoing support of our peerless artists who bring us such joy and inspiration throughout the year.
